After studying at Glasgow School of Art Andrew has lived & taught in the Hebrides since 1973, first in South Uist & then in Skye. He now works full-time in his own studio, painting & printmaking after some 15 years as Principal Teacher of Art at Portree High School.He exhibits widely in Scotland and has contributed to major touring exhibitions; most recently Leobhar Mòr, The Great Book of Gaelic.He has travelled in particular to France & Italy, where he has exhibited in Tuscany. His work can be found in collections of the Western Isles Health Board, Grampian Health Board, Edinburgh City Council & the Scottish Office as well as in private collections in Europe & the USA. Commissions for illustrative & graphic work have come in particular from the Gaelic Book Council and Acair Publishers. He is currently engaged on a large illustrative project combining the work of several artists & printmakers.
